This Toyota Landcruiser 70 series arrived straight from the dealer for some custom fab work.
Customers request = give me everything!

This customer wanted a top of the range custom canopy with all the bells and whistles. With an 18 month around Australia trip planned it had to be setup to provide and store everything he needed, whenever, wherever. So we got to work.

The canopy was fabricated out of aluminium with our strong box section frame design. The driver’s side of the canopy was built to comprise a dog box / storage area with a mesh window. The window had a secure removable cover over it to use when a dog isn’t present for weather-proofing. The area at the front of the canopy was built for storage with a single large draw and hidden dual battery setup / electrical storage area.

On the passenger side of the Toyota we installed a two draw system for additional storage. The draws are lockable once closed preventing spillage of equipment and safety when the canopies door is open. A slide out aluminium bench was fabricated under the rear draw to create a preparation area for the customer. We then installed dual fridge drop slides on the shelf above the draws allowing the customer and his family to easily access their fridge and freezer. Additional shelving was added in the canopy along with under canopy tool boxes to create even more storage.

On the roof of the Landcruiser canopy we installed a rack system with boat rollers so the customer can easily roll his dingy onto the roof and stow away. Two slimline solar panels were also installed on the roof area to assist with keeping the dual battery system charged. A full electrical setup was installed throughout the canopy including LED lighting, remote central locking with alarm and keyless entry and a DC charger. A large awning was also fitted to the passenger side of the vehicle.

We also installed our new vent airflow system which allows air to flow through the canopy without sacrificing the double door seals and allowing dust and dirt into the canopy. It has an internal filter to collect unnecessary dust and dirt in the air and creates positive pressure inside the canopy.

The LC canopy was then sent off for a colour match paint finish to match the vehicles cabin. We then matched the under canopy toolboxes and rear wheel guard to the front wheel guard colour of the Toyota continuing the nice looking two tone effect around the car. The dual jerry can holders and lockable rear draw were also matched to the underside colour. We think it looks a treat. So did the Customer.
